The Village is governed by a Village Council comprised of a Mayor and four Council members, all elected to four-year staggered terms, and the Mayor appoints the following Commissions and Boards subject to approval by Village Council: Planning and Zoning Commission (Eagle Nest is a zoned community), Economic Development and Tourism Commission, Library Board, Community Center Board, Youth Board, Beautification Committee, Senior Center/Multi-purpose Board. The Village has employees in the following positions: Administrator, Financial Officer, Municipal Clerk, Deputy Clerk, and Public Works Director.

The Village Senior Center is also known as the Multi-Purpose Building.  Lunches are served Monday through Friday at a reduced fee to those over the age of 60.  Reservations should be called in to the Center the day before you plan to eat at the Center.  Exercise equipment is available at the Center, as well as other activities.  Please call for any information regarding activities and times of opening.

Our library is located in the multi-purpose building (Senior Citizens Center) and is open year round.  In addition to the books in our library, also available are books on tape, videos and internet access.

DO YOU HAVE A DOG?

If so, you have sixty (60) days after becoming a resident to license your dog with the village.  A current rabies vaccination tag or certificate from a veterinarian is required for the license.
Fees for licenses are:  $3.00 for all male and spayed female dogs.  $6.00 for all un-spayed female dogs.
Dogs are licensed on an annual basis and licenses must be renewed each year by January 31st.  Licenses are available at Village Hall, Monday through Friday 8:00 am to noon and 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm.
Dogs must be on a secure leash, not exceeding eight (8) feet in length when not confined within a designated area.

BUILDING OR REMODELING?

The village requires you to obtain a building permit for any new structure.  Please contact Village Hall before any construction.
